NewsQueens Of The Stone Age Producer Readies Side ProjectQueens Of The Stone Age collaborator Chris Goss and Nine Inch Nails bassist Jeordie White aka Goon Moon are preparing for the release of their second album in May. 'Licker's Last Legs' is the follow-up to 205's 'I Got A Brand New Egg Layin' Machine' and is inspired by the current wave of folk such as Devendra Banhart and Joanna Newsom, as well as a more experimental sound inspired by the likes of Deerhoof. White (who was known as Twiggy Ramirez in his days as Marilyn Manson's bassist) and Goss actually wrote much of the music prior to the release of their debut, but just recently added vocals. Goss has been a long-time collaborator of Josh Homme, having produced three Kyuss records and most recently co-produced the new Queens Of The Stone Age disc 'Era Vulgaris'. Homme in turn, guests on the Goon Moon album. 'Licker's Last Legs' is released May 8. U2 Tower gets approval One of the world's most famous architects has been chosen to oversee the construction of The U2 Tower, reports ITN. Norman Foster, the brains behind the Gherkin in London and the Millau Viaduct in France, was selected by Dublin's Docklands Development Authority. He will now head-up the operation for the city's first ever skyscraper, which will reach a height of 120m and cost around 200 millions euros. Commissioned by Geranger Ltd, a consortium including the members of the Irish rock group, the tower will apparently feature an egg-shaped recording studio at its peak. Work on the landmark is expected to commence next year with a completion date scheduled for 2011. |
